How is Prixum different from Prism Launcher?

Prixum is built from Prism Launcher and does everything it does: mods, modpacks from Modrinth and CurseForge, several accounts, Java downloads. On top it adds the Nova design with themes and a theme editor, a skins window like in the Modrinth App, a frosted glass wallpaper, new settings with a search, render scaling and Ely.by accounts.

Is it free?

Yes. Prixum is free, with no ads and no sign-up. The code is on GitHub under the GPL-3.0.

How do I move my instances over from Prism?

On the first start Prixum offers to copy your instances, accounts and settings from Prism Launcher. It takes a minute and leaves the Prism folder alone, so you can keep both launchers.

Windows says the app might be dangerous. What now?

The builds are not signed with a certificate yet, so Windows SmartScreen doesn't recognize them. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway". On macOS, open the app with a right-click and "Open".

Do I need to own Minecraft?

To play you need a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft. After you sign in, you can add offline accounts and Ely.by accounts, for example for servers that use Ely.by.

How do I change my skin?

Open the account menu in the bottom left and choose "Manage Skins…". Add a skin from a file, by drag and drop, by player name or with a NameMC link. Pick the skin and press "Wear Skin".

How do I turn on the wallpaper behind the instances?

"Settings → Appearance → Wallpaper": turn on the switch and choose a picture. Blur and dimming are set there too. The wallpaper is off by default.

How do I update Prixum?

On Windows, in the AppImage and in the portable build on Linux, the launcher checks for updates and offers to install the new version. On macOS and with the Arch package, download the new version from the Download page.

Where are my instances and settings?

Windows: %APPDATA%\PrixumLauncher. Linux: ~/.local/share/PrixumLauncher. macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/PrixumLauncher. The portable build keeps everything in its own folder. The "Folders" menu in the launcher opens them quickly.

Render scaling doesn't work

Render scaling works on Linux through gamescope, which you need to install: sudo pacman -S gamescope or sudo apt install gamescope. Windows and macOS don't have this feature.
